Prayer Request for 10/22/2020

Good afternoon all,

We have continued to meet regularly, with a couple of planned breaks here and there.  Over the course of time we have grown in our discernment and in our trust in one another's insight.  We can really see the Lord's work in an among the Committee members deliberation.

The Committee would really appreciate your prayers in the upcoming weeks.  We have identified a man who shows promise and seems to have the gift set to be an excellent candidate.  There have been interviews and questions back and forth, all of which has been positive.

We'd also ask that you continue to pray for Frank and Jeanne, the staff and volunteers and for the November reopening of on campus worship.
Blessings to you, for the Committee

Prayer Update for 9/14/2020

Dear Friends, after a brief summer respite the committee is back to work.  I must tell you that we had a bit of a let down recently.  The committee identified a prospective candidate that seemed to fit the bill, but it was not to be.  In that we praise God because we can see his hand going before us.

Most recently we have had two interviews.  Candidate A is a man who was reviewed during our first few weeks of our work together but had been called for a time in another direction.  The other (Candidate B) was new to us. We were impressed with Candidate A and hope to have a follow up interview in the very near future.  Although Candidate B has a strong resume, he is not the best fit for Hunt Valley at this time.  There is yet a third candidate whose credentials we will review in the next week or so.  We will of course keep you posted.

Please pray for the process with Candidate A and the continuing process with other candidates as they come up for our review.  Also pray for the timing and process generally.  Imagine how difficult and potentially heart wrenching it might be for a congregation to lose their pastor and a pastor to move during a time when COVID prevents them from meeting together.  As hard as that might be, we know that all things work for the good of those who love Christ and are called according to His purpose.

During this time when COVID prevents us from meeting regularly, the committee wants to encourage you to press on in your walk with Christ, spend time in stillness and rest in His love.

Thanks so very much for your important prayer support.
