Prayer Requests for 5/24/2020

The LPSC met this week and plowed through a lot of material and had a teleconference with Charles McGowan.  Charles has continued to be on the look out for us and we currently have three candidates we are looking into right now.

With the above in mind, would you please pray for the committee in the following areas:

-  for continued spirit of cooperation with one another,
-  that we would not grow discouraged with the process,
-  that we would clearly and undeniably see God's choice in our next pastor,
-  that we would be life givers to those we interview and that the character of Christ would be exemplified through our work and interactions with others,

Many, many thanks to each of you and for your faithful prayers.  You cannot imagine how powerful and how cherished they are to our Lord and to us.

Prayer Request for 5/11/2020

The committee did not meet this past Sunday because of Mother's Day, but will reconvene Tuesday (tomorrow) night.  There is a new candidate in the hopper and some administrative procedures to attend, so it should be a full meeting.  The committee would appreciate if you would hold the following up in prayer as a fragrant aroma to our LORD.

1.  Pray for the committee to remain united, humble, and open with their deliberations.
2.  Pray that the candidate and the committee will be united in the calling.
3.  Pray that all candidates will be positively impacted by their interaction with HVC and that the church's mission and vision would be something which every candidate could apply to his own circumstance.
4.  Pray for wisdom and discernment to the candidates and the committee in this process.
5.  Pray that the process would not be rushed and that the committee, the session, the congregation, and Frank would be resting in God's timing.
6.  Pray for the congregation, that God would give them discernment in this process as well.
7.  Pray through  (and perhaps memorize) James 3:17.

The committee is so very grateful for your past support!  Thank you.
