Catch a movie, flip on TV, check out a magazine in the doctor’s office, or surf the web and you’ll likely sense there’s a lot of confusion out there about what constitutes a real man. It’s a struggle guys have faced since Adam took the fruit. We work with a definition of a “real man” based on God’s Word so that whether in their homes, workplace, or neighborhoods the men of HVC will
- Reject passivity
- Engage with God
- Accept responsibility
- Lead courageously
We meet regularly, in several venues, and in different ways to encourage each other and to learn the way Jesus modeled a “R.E.A.L.” man. We invite you to check out any of these opportunities.
Men’s Bible Study
Throughout the year, a group of 25 or so guys meet at The Point on Saturday mornings starting at 7am. During this time, we hear God’s Word taught and then discuss how we can apply it to our lives, work, marriages, and relationships.
This is a great place to meet other guys and check things out. The style is laid back with thoughtful content. Plus, at that time of morning there is always coffee and donuts—how can you go wrong?

Men on a Mission
The Scripture says, “Early in the morning Jesus got up and prayed.”
Taking our clue from Jesus, this small group of guys meets Wednesday mornings from 7:30—8:00am in the Conference Room at The Point and prays for the church and for people’s needs.
No need to sign up for anything; just show up and join in. More info here.
Men’s Training Camp
Okay, we admit it is just a fancy title for our Men’s Retreat, but we want to be trained as “apprentices” of Jesus. Held in late spring last year, about 75 guys came out for a fun, and inspiring weekend. Watch the bulletin and listen for the buzz as this event approaches!
