Worship Times: Sundays at 8:00, 9:30, and 11:00am (9:35 simulcast @ The Point)

Food for Thought is a unique ministry that creates a place for women and their friends to “come and taste.” Two times a year, we invite women to experience the beauty of a delicious and unique meal, followed by thoughtful table conversation specific to a speaker’s presentation. Our themes are designed to arouse curiosity around the person of Christ and life with Him.

We specifically design Food for Thought to be welcoming, inclusive and creative in order to encourage connection and discussion about the ideas of faith and life. This is a unique outreach opportunity to invite friends, co-workers and neighbors who are seeking or questioning faith issues, as well as a time to connect with new women in our church. Food for Thought is a place where those new to our church or women who want to grow in their spiritual walk can be welcomed and engage over great food and sharing.

Topic and Speaker:  The Search for Well-being with Mel Horrigan

We live in a culture that puts a premium on well- being. The rise of health and life coaches, spas, and the quest for wholeness attest to this.  But what, exactly is “well- being” and how does it relate to the full or abundant life of which Jesus speaks? Though we may not be able to quite put our finger on it, something deep within all of us yearns for a sense of well- being and a life lived to its fullest potential.  Join us as Mel explores the ideas of well -being and the abundant life, while also offering insights from her own experiences.
Mel Horrigan is a pediatric occupational therapist at National Rehabilitation Hospital and a clinical supervisor at her alma mater, Towson University. She recently opened her own private practice and has a passion for incorporating creative techniques into her therapy. Mel lives in Monkton with her husband Ben and one-year-old Liam. She has been a member at Hunt Valley Church for ten years and has led the Food For Thought Ministry for four.
