Food for Thought is a unique ministry that creates a place for women and their friends to “come and taste.” With delicious food, beauty, and dialogue as the backdrop, we hope to bring life to one idea around the person of Christ and life with Him.
We’ve specifically designed Food for Thought to be welcoming, inclusive and creative in order to encourage connection and discussion about the ideas of faith and womanhood. We hope and pray it is a place where those new to our church or women who want to grow in their spiritual walk can come, meet, be welcomed and engage over great food and sharing.

“Epiphany”
e·piph·a·ny [ih-pif-uh-nee] “A sudden, intuitive perception of or insight into the reality or essential meaning of something, usually initiated by some simple, homely, or commonplace occurrence or experience.”
We welcome WPOC Morning radio host, wife and mother Laurie DeYoung to share and encourage us to be surprised where God shows up in the commonplace.
Last year WPOC Baltimore morning host Laurie DeYoung became the third woman inducted into the Country Music DJ Hall of Fame. This past September, she celebrated her 25th anniversary at WPOC and also marked her 35th in radio.
DeYoung began her career at age 19 at WMUZ Detroit, and moved on to stints at WSHN Fremont, Mich., then Grand Rapids, Mich., stations WYGR, WCUZ, WLAV, WTWN and WKLQ, and finally KBST San Diego before arriving at WPOC in 1985. Since then, she has been nominated for multiple Billboard, R&R and Country Music Assn. awards, and won the CMA’s large market personality of the year award in 1994.
Laurie lives in Ruxton, she is married to Ed DeYoung who leads worship and programming at Grace Fellowship Church and he and Ed have three children, Graham, Taylor and Paris.
